What kid doesn’t like lounging around in his or her pajamas all day long? Here’s an opportunity to let your kids experience a whole day in their pajamas, while enjoying fun activities.
- Step One: The host will need to secure a large area to house many kids ranging from kindergarten through grade school. There will need to be a kitchen area in the building. Pick the day which works best for all volunteers. Decide on the length of the event, say from 8 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
- Step two: Procure adult supervision for the day’s event. Decide before hand how many kids will be allowed to participate in this one day camp and figure one adult per five kids to supervise.
- Step three: Plan your meals for the day. Breakfast, lunch, and supper. Breakfast could be waffles and fruit, cereal, or pancakes. Lunch could be something like hotdogs and macaroni and supper could be tacos. Something easy and quick for each meal.
- Step Four: Have activities planned for the whole day. Some of these could included movie time, finger painting, indoor games, etc.
- Step Five: Find sponsers for the event. Approach craft stores, movie stores and grocery markets. Explain this fundraiser is going to be for raising funds for the local school and ask if they’d be willing to support it by donating items to this one day event. You could say for their participation, when you place the ad in the local newspaper for the Pajama Day Fundraiser, you’ll mention their contributions to the days activities. You could even suggest the manager or an employee attend and have a photo op for publicity.
- Step Six: Place your ad. Make sure you include the day of the event, the time it will cover and that it is going to be on a first come basis, or until the number of slots are filled. Arrange for the local newspaper office to cover the event and take photos of the sponsors and a group picture of the volunteers with the kids who attended. This is a great opportunity to really promote your fundraiser and make it known this is to raise funs for the upcoming school year and all the activities that will be planned for that year.
- Step Seven: When parents call in to make their reservations, be sure you get the parents name matched with the child and make sure it’s that parent who picks up their child at the end of the day. Perhaps you can do name tags or matching bracelets. These steps will ensure you are taking serious your responsibility for their child’s well-being. Too it could make a huge impression on the parent and bring in some extra tip monies for the school. So don’t forget to set up a tip jar at the front of the building.
- Step Eight: Remember, before all else, allow a few weeks ahead of time to organize everything. Being prepared will help in keeping a safe and successful environment for this fun day of activities. There will be no stressing because you’ve planned ahead.
Now the fun beings. Enjoy have a wonderful fundraiser while raising money for your school. This fundraiser is sure to be a huge success
