It’s been seen throughout the years, kids excitedly calling out for you to stop at their lemonade stand for a refreshing drink. Sometimes to your dismay the lemonade might be a bit tart, but you don’t care…it’s for the kids. Well now is the time to play on those sentiments and turn that lemonade stand into a fundraising stand.

The same idea will be in play, but with the intent of raising funds for school. The summer months are hot and people who are out and about will take notice of a brightly arrayed and displayed lemonade stand.

This fundraiser should be designed to be hosted at several areas in the community, but it should be supervised by a grownup, letting the kids do the selling though. Their energy will draw in grownups.

Hitting high traffic areas would be the key to drawing in more donations to your cause. Places such as busy intersection corners, where you wont be in the way of traffic, community centers, business areas, neighborhoods, mall areas, clubs, grocery stores, really wherever you’d be allowed to put one.

Creative signs could be made that will catch the eyes of passerby. Images of lemons and photos of kids and adults drinking could be use to the stands advantage. Actual lemons placed on the stand in a bowl, anything to that says, “Cool and Refreshing.”

If you can find someone who is a good seamstress, you could have some costumes made up of lemons which volunteers could wear, while holding up a sign with some witty and cute slogan.

Have cute donation boxes made to look like lemons. You could even make lemon-limeade as a secondary drink to offer. Whatever it takes to draw in crowds for this fundraiser in regards to a lemonade stand try to incorporate.

Some suggestions you could put into play before hand is: Advertise this fundraiser with gusto. Place an ad in the newspaper, put out fliers wherever possible. Contact the local fire and police departments and try to get them to stop by throughout the day.

For the stands the more simple, but eye-catching they can be, the better. Have ice chests at each of the stands. You can keep ice in the pitcher instead of the cups that way the drinks will already be cold.

Try making ice cubes of lemonade. By adding these to your mixture, you wont be watering it down. Have a small trash can set up for trash. You don’t want to leave your areas littered with cups.

This will be a fun, fundraiser if enough effort is put into making it appealing and interesting. Kids enjoy hosting lemonade stands so use their energy to promote sales for the school.

Once the fundraiser is over, be sure to gather all the donation boxes up. After the funds have been tallied you could put in a small ad in the newspaper thanking everyone for donating and state the amount raised.

While the summer months are hot, even into the early part of fall, you could host several of these events and raise more funds. You can adapt them by changing out lemonade for others things. The possibilities are endless.

For ages kids have been entertaining themselves, for hours, with jumping fun. It’s great fun and healthy. So this fundraiser is all about jumping rope. Make this fundraiser not only fun, but make it about raising funds for school activities.

You could take advantage of this fundriser several times throughout the school year. Have sheets made up which students can take around to get signatures for pledges. Have those pledging, write down next totheir name how much they will donate per however many minutes the student jumps.

Encourage the students to not limit their selection of pledgers to friends, family and acquaintances either. Suggest they walk up and down their neighborhood getting signatures for donations with the supervision of an adult.

Ask businesses, city organizations, church members to sign up to pledge as well. Wal-Mart is good about letting school groups set up tables for school activities. So try to set up a booth with students to get shoppers to pledge donations..

Don’t limit yourself to Wal-Mart, see if other grocery stores will do the same. Be sure to get phone numbers with those pledges so they can later be called for the pledges to be picked up.

Parents can take their child’s pledge sheet to work with them and see if they can get some signatures from co-workers. Grandparents can do the same. The more people who’ll sign up for this fundraiser, the more funds that can be raised.

Allow for about a week of signature gathering. Then set up the day for the jumping to begin. Encourage parents to be there. You’ll need help for adults to help supervising this jump. Each volunteer should have at least five students to keep an eye on with their jumping.

Once the student quits jumping then his/her time needs to be entered on their pledge sheet, which those supervising that group of kids will have. They will then need to sit out and wait for their group members to finish.

You’ll want each student participating in this fundraiser to bring their own jump rope. These are inexpensive and can be found at different merchandising stores, even dollar stores. This way the school wont need to have an added expense purchasing jump ropes.

Encourage the parents of the students to bring a light snack and drink for their youngster who’s jumping. The school gym is the best place to hold this event or another school building large enough to house several jumpers.

Before the jumping begins already have permission slips signed. Collect all the pledge sheets and divide them into groups of five. On the day of the jumping, hand out the group of five pledge sheets to the volunteers who’ll look over that particular group jumping.

After the event is held, now begins the collecting phase. The kids should have collected phone numbers with their pledges. Have them call up their donaters and make arrangements to collect the donation pledge. Encourage each student to smile and say thanks you when
collecting the money.

After all the collecting is done and the tally has been figured, make an announcement over the PA System to let the kids know how much money they raised for the school. Perhaps sometime during the school year, an ice cream party can be planned as a way of thanking the students for all their hard work helping to make money for their school.

Don’t forget to do this fundraiser a few times throughout the school year. Kids enjoy doing these kind of things and people enjoy for the most part, donating to a good cause.

Everyone enjoys the satisfying feeling of accomplishing something themselves. Even feeling pride once the project is completely done, so this DIY Fundraiser will be one that will appeal to both parents and kids alike. This fundraiser is about DIY projects kids and parents can do together, a sort of workshop activity for both to enjoy.

To set this up you’ll need a location to run the fundraising venue. A local community center, church activity center, club center or school cafeteria would be great locations. There needs to be enough room so everyone can branch out while doing their projects.

Once you have the location secured, start planning the fundraiser. Advertise this fundraiser as a DIY Project for families, a sort of “Family Night Affair”. State there will be a number of DIY activities to choose from such as kites, paintings, models, planes, jewelry and so on.

Next you’ll need to start finding sponsors for this fundraiser, especially if the materials are not on hand at the schools to host this. Try calling and then visiting different hobby shops, mass marketing crafts stores, art supply stores and so on.

It’ll be important to ask if they’d be willing to donate materials towards this fundraiser to help raise money for your towns/city/community schools. As a way of acknowledging their contributions, you could circulate fliers to each family head who signs up for this fundraiser.

Encourage local shopping at these places and give a public thanks in the newspaper, after the fundraiser has been held stating what they each contributed towards the fundraiser. They may even be willing to partake in the fundraiser by being a teacher to help out in each sort of activity you have. This way they can share their expertise or share suggestions with the kids and parents.

While this is a fun affair, the important reason behind hosting this fundraiser is to raise monies to help the school out. Some times extra money needs to be raised to cover activities that aren’t covered or which have been done away with due to economic situations.

Now that you have the location/sponsors and materials start advertising the day/days you’ll be having this fundraiser. Since it’s geared towards families, early evening workshops or weekend workshops might be the best. You want to run this fundraiser as long as you have the materials to do so and time.

Run a newspaper ad and pass out fliers regarding this fundraiser. Include when and where it will be held and how many dates it will cover. Encourage families to come together, even with the grandparents. List the activities you’ll have available to do and list the cost of admittance. This cost should be a fee should range according to family size, but it will cover whatever project that is chosen to do.

For a family of four a certain fee, parent/child a different fee and so on. You want to be fair, but you also want to make that money for your schools. Any workshop activity is usually a set fee, so people will realize that prices will vary according to family size.

Remind those who call and ask about this fundraiser that it’s to raise money fort he school. People usually give generously when they know that their money is going towards something which will help out their community or town.

Also include in the advert that any who’d like to make a donation, but who doesn’t want to attend the fundraiser can donate too. You might consider having a donation site set up at the time of the fundraiser so extra donations can be taken in.

This fundraiser doesn’t need to be ran as this article brings out, it’s more of a guide of helpful suggestions as it’s intended to give ideas. So arranging this fundraiser to meet your needs would be the best way to go. Enjoy and have fun with this.

Don Ho’s voice and hula dancers set the scene for this fun and festive fundraiser. No it’s not a trip to Hawaii, but it will be just as fun. Before school starts again, it’s a great opportunity to end the summer vacation with food and entertainment while hosting a “Hawaiian Luau Fundraiser”

Get started right away planning this fundraiser so it will draw in those crowds and be fun and entertaining.

Finding your location to host such an event can be hard, but it’ll need to be the first step you take before you can even plan everything else. If it’s not to hot where you live, try to find an outdoors area to host it. If the heat is scorching then seek an area where the floral and fauna can help set the tone.

You might check with your Chamber of Commerce to find the right location to host this. Since this is a fund raising event for the schools, by getting them involved could increase the effectiveness of raising money. Don’t hold back for asking if the area could be donated for the time the Luau takes place. Once your location is found, the planning begins.

Play up the “Fundraising” part by seeking food donations from local grocery businesses. Instead of burying a pig in the ground, opt for grilling pork and beef on grills with Hawaiian flavors. You can hit up local BBQ places to see if they’d be willing to donate their services for cooking the meats.

Now planning the decorating is serious. You want this luau to be as authentic as possible without actually being in Hawaii experiencing one. So plan ahead and do your research. Visit local craft shops, flower shops and decorating stores to see what they’d be willing to donate towards your Luau.

Lei’s, grass hula skirts, banana leaves, palm fronds, tiki torches, Hawaiian music, fishnets, shells and sand can help set the mood of the night’s luau. The more you can put into making this fundraiser feel as authentic as possible, the more interest you’ll draw and the better the donations may be.

Once all the planning is done, advertise your fundraiser. State that it’s for raising funds for local schools, who need help with having monies for those extra activities planned for their kids throughout the school year. Tug on those heartstrings of parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles.

In your advert for this fundraiser, encourage all to wear their best Hawaiian themed outfit (albeit modest outfit). State there will be a prize given for the best male and female outfit at the end of the luau.

Have donation boxes set up throughout the venue, overseen by trustworthy adults. At the entrance of the party have volunteers put leis around the neck of all who attend and have an area set up at the entrance for the entrance fee, which will cover all the food and entertainment provided for this fundraiser.

You’re walking down the street and catch a whiff of something delicious. You’re mouth starts to water as those taste buds sound the alarm! As you’re reaching for the door to open it, all fades away into a mist – say it isn’t so! off. I know, I know it was only a dream, but what a good dream to play off of. This is the dream which brings about your fundraiser.

Call out those fisherman, fire up the grills and get those deep fryers going, this is your “Fish Fry Fundraiser”. The community is going to love this. Who doesn’t enjoy a bit of fish and chips?

As with all fundraisers this one has to be set up in accord with all laws and regulations that come with serving the public food, if any are about. Too, you’ll need to find a place to hold this tasty little bit of fun.

A good way to approach this fundraiser is to first check with the largest school in town and see if the “Fish Fry” can be held in a parking lot or sporting field which will accommodate a large crowd. If one can’t be found then another course of action is in order.

If plan A fails, move on to plan B which would be to contact your local Chamber of Commerce to see if there is any available space where a fish fry can be held. Be sure that the reason for this fish fry is announced at the beginning. You will find more people willing to offer help, space, and time when a fundraiser is being held for a good cause.

Once all the above is established send out a plea for volunteers via the local newspaper, clubs, recreation centers, friends and families to offer their grills, fryers, and equipment needed to host this fundraiser.

Take time to go by a few big grocery stores and see if they’d be willing to donate at least some if not all of the food items needed. Things like, batter mix for the fish, fried pickles, onion rings and so on. You’ll need fish, french fries, onions, pickles, hush-puppy mixes, jalapeños, anything needed to host this event. Don’t forget to get drinks and snacks. Napkins and cups would be others things you’d need too for this fundraiser.

Start collection newspapers to use as plates to hold the foods eaten. Go by local eateries and get ice donations in line, for the drinks. You don’t really need forks and knives since the fingers will do for utensils.

In your announcement for this fundraiser, encourage all to bring their folding chairs and tables, this way you’ll not need to worry about seating. It’ll be a bring your own chair and table situation, or they can sit on the ground or in their cars. Have a set fee in mind for those who come to this “Fish Fry Fundraiser”. One set fee will get them the all you can eat option, so make it a fair but decent price.

Have the food area set up as a buffet line. Such as fish, hush-puppies, fries/onion rings, fried pickles and so on. This will help keep the line moving as quick as it can. Have the drinks served away from the food area. If you got donations for drinks hopefully you’ll have gotten canned drinks or something similar so cups wont be need. The ice that was donated would be for chilling the drinks ahead of time.

Really pitch the fundraiser part of this event. These donations will be going to schools to help them out with the financial cost of projects or activities the schools don’t really have the funds for. So many teachers, students and schools have been affected by the economic
pinch, so this fundraiser can release some of the financial stress felt by the Education Board.

You might be able to get the Superintendent to give a talk about how the funds raised can help out and maybe give the parents an idea of where the funds will go. Most parents are concerned about their child’s education, even their extra activities they might be involved in. So make this about the fund raising, but let the excitement and deliciousness of the day be the resulting end to this fantastic fundraiser.

The Summer months are winding down and just around the corner the tolling of school bells will be heard. Excited chatter and scurrying feet resound throughout the halls of different schools, as now begins another school year.

All those school activities will start taking place and could be teachers are racking their brains, trying to come up with different types of fundraisers so money can be earn to support and help out these school activities.

Here’s one such fundraiser which can be held, anytime, through the coming school year. In fact this fundraiser could even be supported by the school and take place in the school. This is a “Cookie Lollipop Fundraiser”.

A selection of the most popular cookies, baked as lollipops and situated in a flower pot to create an exciting and delicious array of yumminess. The great thing about this fundraiser is, the cooking of the cookie lollipops are done in the schools cafeteria.

You could ask for volunteers to help bake the cookies, or you could see if the school would be willing to ask help from the cafeteria ladies, in the baking of the cookies. They could for the most part bake the cookies with the sticks in them and the decorating and arranging of the cookie flower pots can be done by volunteers and students.

After the plan for the fundraiser is set to motion, then can begin the selling part of the fundraiser. This can be done via the newspaper, handouts, and just good old word of mouth exposure. Have students take part by selling to family and friends, even knocking on the doors of neighbors.

This will be a two part fundraiser. The first wave sells, then the second …delivers. So as these arrangements are sold, names and addresses will need to be written down with the choice of cookies they’d like in their flower pot arrangement. This will require a list of cookies which will be baked.

There needs to be at least four selections to choose from. Some could be peanut butter, chocolate chip, sugar and oatmeal. Don’t limit yourself to four, if more can be bake, the greater the variety the more chances you have of selling these cute little arrangements.

Regarding the baking of these cookies. The cookies will need to have sticks baked into them in order for them to stand up in the flower pot without breaking, so the round sucker sticks should probably be used. Too these cookies will need to be thick enough to house the stick, but not to thick they’ll topple over or break apart because of the weight. A few trial runs, of small amounts of each cookie, can be done beforehand to see what way works out the best.

When it comes to the packaging of the cookies prior to deliver, here’s where creative decorating comes into play. Because the cookies will be standing up, supported by flower Styrofoam or flower clay, actual decorating should be kept to the individual wrapping of the cookies.

Bright and colorful cookie wrap can be used, each tied off with a twist tie. Then a few strands of pretty ribbon can be added to each pop to ape leaves. Arranging of the cookie pops can be left up to the creativity of those helping to put them together. Each pot should hold about twelve cookies.

Once the arrangements have been made, then delivery should take place as soon as possible. At the time of delivery, the funds for these cookie arrangements should be gathered. Before hand you will have decided on how much to ask for these cute little cookie treats. The ultimate goal is to raise fund for the school, so people will expect to pay a little more than they would at the bakery.

To recap a bit. Plan the event, make arrangement for the event to be held, then follow through with your plans ASAP. Always explain to those you’ll be approaching, this fundraiser is being held to raise funds for the school year to help cover whatever needs will come up the school itself doesn’t cover.

Let your yes mean yes and follow through with your plans as stated to those who would be giving donations or funds to whatever event is being held. Even if would be buyers don’t want to participate, never over an opportunity to ask for voluntary donations. Take advantage of the opportunities that present themselves. Don’t limit yourself to just friends, family and neighbors, think outside the box and hit businesses, clubs, community centers and so on. Remember to ask for permission though when entering a business.

Hopefully this little fundraiser will be something your school can do. However you go about it, make it fun. Your school is worth all the effort it takes when it comes to raising funds for it.

Who doesn’t love a leisurely ride along the country-side or along city streets, wind blowing the hair, sounds and smells which are unique to your area of living. These rides are even more fun when viewed from the seat of a bicycle built for two or one.

Now is the time to host a bicycle fundraiser, while the sun shines and the weather is right. Here’s a few suggestions to help you along on your ride your way to fun “Bicycle Fundraiser”.

Start by finding willing participants. Ask those in your church, clubs, faculty, even placing an ad in the newspaper for volunteers to take part in a fundraising event for the local schools. While people are signing up decide on how long your bicycle ride will be and what route you’ll use when the fundraiser happens. After these two parts are taken care of it will be time to arrange a meeting with your volunteers and discuss how the funds will be raised.

Let everyone know that the way the funds will be raised is by finding sponsors, be it friends, family, co-workers, businessman, corporations. Ask that they sponsor so much money for each mile ridden by that participant. You can have sheets made up for the names and amount of money sponsored and the miles completed, so it can be easily figured up once the race ends.

You can decide on a price to ask for each mile rode or you can leave it up to the ones doing the donating. The important thing is to raise money for the needs of your local schools. Lots of people love giving to organizations, causes and needs when they know about them and what they are going towards. You can have a door to door campaign and a business to business campaign. It will need to be done professionally and as quick as can be, especially when visiting the local businesses. Dress appropriately for whatever area you’ll be working.

Try to see if you can find someone to donate services towards catering the fundraiser. Local hamburger joints, drug stores, grocery stores and so on. You’ll need water, snacks, first aid help, bicycle tire air pumps, and so on to ensure everyone is able to finish the ride.

Try to work it up the way a professional bike ride would be held. Do your research ahead of time to figure out what all you’ll need to have a successful ride. The more businesses you can find to take part in the fundraiser, the better it will be for drawing in donations and crowds.

See if you can get the city council involved, as well as the Mayor. Maybe the Mayor could start the ride, as the official fundraiser begins. If you have business ties, try to rope them in. You need all the community help you can get.

Plan for an, “after the ride celebration” where hamburgers and hotdogs, chips and drinks are served. Again going for the offer of volunteers to provide all the needs. You could ask that everyone meet at the largest park or recreational area around and bring their grills and foods.

Have a sort of grazing party, where everyone eats and shares what they’ve brought to the celebration. This is a fun way to end your bicycle fundraiser and for the community to enjoy as a whole, the association and town/city association for a common goal.

These sort of fundraiser bring in lots of donations. There is no better cause to donate to than the education of children. Even when it comes to the community to raise the funds, it gives everyone involved the sense of accomplishment knowing they contributed time and resources to their community, in a productive way.

As an added bonus have an award ceremony for first, second, and third place in adult and child categories. Perhaps you can offer gift certificates in various denominations with ribbons for prizes or whatever you can come up with.

Once the ride is over make sure everyone makes good on those donation pledges. After all the money has been gathered make a public announcement, via the local newspaper, stating the amount of money which was raised and give a hearty thank you for everyone’s help in raising money for the schools.

This will be a fundraiser many talk about for a time. Perhaps it could become a tradition for your community, a sort of beginning of the school year donation drive for the schools. Whatever happens with this fundraiser have fun. Plan ahead and this will be a successful event.

As summer begins to wind down and thoughts of a new school year start easing their way into the mind, memories like shadows cast portraits of your child’s early school year beginnings. Little faces captured in photos of those bygone days are priceless!

This is a great opportunity to encourage parents to capture a different, unique, and fun image of their child in shadow. An image which can be framed and displayed for years, like those little hand prints set to plaster.

All you need to start this fundraiser is an idea and phone. Fundraising can be fun when you know how to go about setting one up. This fundraiser is going is one of those fun and easy ones.

Start by arranging, with the school, a day for the “Shadow Portraits” to be done. You can then ask for volunteer artist to help draw the kids side view image, of their face, on paper. These volunteers could be art teachers and local artists.

You’ll want to let them know that this is going to be a fundraising event for the school. Schools, like everyone else, have felt the sting of the economies dwindling structure, so by letting artist know all proceeds will go to the school, for unfunded school activities.

Visit art supply stores and hobby shops to procure material donations needed to make this fundraiser happen. Ask them to be sponsors of this event and include fliers about their stores, with receipts, when parents purchase these “Shadow Portraits”. Encourage parents to seek their child’s art supplies from these donating stores as a thank you to the donating companies.

The materials needed would be pencils, small lamps for creating the shadows, black paper for the silhouette image and heavy poster board for the silhouette to be glued too. You can purchase a few rolls of butcher paper to wrap the portraits in individually, as the packaging, then tie them off with twine. This creates as artsy look. Tag each individual package with the name tag of the purchaser with their phone number for easy contact once the images are done.

After setting the date, let the public know about the “Shadow Portraits” via the local newspaper or by handing out fliers as students start enrolling for school. Be sure the time and date is set before school begins.

Don’t forget to speak this fundraiser up as parents come in to enroll their kids. Suggest that grandparents might like one for themselves too. Always mention the reason for this fundraiser and state by helping out their child will benefit from the activities in store for the coming school year.

Speak with the local artist about what would be a fair and appropriate fee to charge for these portraits. Since you wont be providing them framed, you might be able to ask a price which would speak to the pocketbooks of all involved.

Be prompt in getting the portraits to parents once they are finished. Have them pick them up at the schools their child attend. So that information will need to be attained when ordered.

As with all fundraisers, have donation boxes set up at all schools partaking in this fundraiser. This way even if portraits aren’t purchased, parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles might be willing to make donations just because their child attends there.

Don’t let the water hose be your only source of water fun during the summer, why not plan a day of water fun at a local or close by water park. Kids and water equal lots of smiles and fun. Get some other moms to help you set up this “Water park fundraiser”.

In fact this fundraiser could be ran a few times through out the summer months so you can be sure to raiser a much money as you can for your schools’ needs. Scoop out what it would cost for a group of kids to enter the park for a day and see if they’d give a discount. Try to see if you can get a discount on usage of inner-tubes and life vest for the young ones. This will make it easier to set up a fee for this days activities when you go to list it in the newspaper and when you pass out fliers.

Once you’ve found out all the information, it’s time to put together the fundraiser event. In your newspaper ad be sure you to include all the information about the fundraiser, like where it’s going to be held, how they’ll get there, what is included in the fee to go and when the event will be over.

Ask those who are attending if they have their own life vest or inflatable inner-tubes or floaties to bring them if they don’t want to pay a cost for rental. Ask that everyone bring a packed lunch and a drink in non-breakable bottles. If the water park doesn’t allow food or drinks to be brought in, then have already on hand an arrangement for a discount at the water parks concession stands. Perhaps a free meal coupon can be donated by the park for bringing in such a large group of swimmers.

The water park might have a group deal which includes the entry price, rental of flotation devices, and meal already set for a large group of attendees. Just ask when getting this fundraiser up, the increase the individual cost for each attendee to make your profit.

It might be good to have same colored wrist bracelets for all attendees to wear. Have the child’s name matched to a parents name for safety reasons. These can be purchased at party supply stores. This is a precaution parents will appreciate.

Since this is a fundraiser activity, be sure to make that known throughout the days fun. The cost of the entry into the park will be covered by the fee charged, it still would be good to see if others would like to donate even though they might not attend. Have some donation boxes set up while everyone is loading into the transportation, this way you might be able to pull in a few more donations besides what you raise from the fundraiser.

Arrange to have as many large passenger vans available to help transport attendees to and from the water park. Get parents to donate their vehicles if possible or see if you can get a school bus to drive you back and forth to and from the water park.

In your ad be sure to list what they will need to bring and pay to go. Don’t forget to announce this as a Water park fundraiser event. It’s a great way to keep parents informed about the needs of the school and it allows them to be a part of solving the situation of lack of funds for the schools their children attend. The economy is hard on everyone these days, but school will feel the crunch of this as more and more monies are taken away from schools. So let everyone do their part in raising money for the schools.

All right. Ready, set, swim……………………..splash!!!!!

This fundraiser is going to need to be done in stages. The get materials stage, the find a location to have the fundraiser stage, find sponsors to sponsor each a different country stage with foods, or items. It’ll be up to the host/hostess to find the materials about each country and have it on hand for the kids who participate in this Around the World Travel Adventure.

Getting the Materials stage: This would include dividers to section off each country from the next or curtains. Each section will represent a certain country and only that country. The kids will visit each section as if they were traveling the world. Having tables set up to house the information, objects, and foods from that country and whatever else might be found to be use.

Too, as each child comes into the area the event is located, hand them a passport of sorts to get stamped at each country they visit. Handing out a paper sack with handles would be nice as well, as it would give them something to store their information sheets in. The passports could be made up of white sheets of paper cut into small squares and stapled together to look like a passport.

You might see if you can get each person in charge of a certain country to be the one dressed in that countries clothing and have a snapshot taken with each kid who wants one to add to their passport later. Ask that they know a little bit about the country they are representing should a child ask them a question. They will need a camera and instant picture making device as the kids should be able to take that countries photo on with them.

The Location Stage is next: A community center, school gym, church recreation center or someplace large enough to house this fundraiser should be sought. Don’t hesitate to ask that the area be donated for the fundraiser, always relating it’s to raise funds for the school. Encourage their own kids participation in the fundraiser by taking part in all the fun and activities at no cost to them.

Finding Sponsors for the event: This is a great time to call on the communities supermarkets, ethnic stores, and cultural centers to find sponsors and volunteers to help out with your fundraiser. Let them know it’s to help raise funds for your school and by their helping it also educates the kids about different cultures and how other children live around the world.

Most business or groups love lending a hand to help their community and the school is one they’d be interested in for sure. This is so true too when they themselves have kids in school and know about the needs of money to keep things going in our schools today.

If you can locate foods which would come from those certain countries then by all means encourage your sponsors to bring that with them so the kids get to see and taste what our world offers on different continents. If they can’t afford to offer taste of foods, bring visuals of different foods for them to feel and touch.

Role of the Host/Hostess: It’ll be up to you to find the information about each country you include in this fundraiser. Put interesting facts on sheets about each, like their foods, population, language spoken, cultural facts and so on. This way your information fact sheet will be informative and educational.

You’ll need to be sure you find volunteers, perhaps other older students to oversee the donation boxes which will be set up through out the event, but at the front as they enter primarily. Their donation is what will get them into the arena floor to begin their tour.

Advertising: Put an ad in your local newspaper, hand out fliers, spread the word at church or any way you can within the community. Make this fundraiser the highlight of the kids summer.

Be specific when stating that a donation will be required to enter the fundraiser’s activities. You don’t need to have a certain amount listed for a donation, but you could have a suggested entry fee if you feel like posting something.

This fundraiser is one of those fundraisers that will be talked about for a long time… who knows this could be a yearly event!
